I think the kids, Stu and I truly felt the magic of this place and leave LA feeling lighthearted and younger.
The park is divided into two sections, Disneyland and California Adventureworld, so we spent 2 days in D/Land and 1 in C/Land. Disney was very busy, and much larger whereas C/L was more relaxed and less busy. Favorite rides would have to be The Screamer Rollercoaster, Cars, Pirates of The Caribbean, Condor Flats( truly awesome), Jurassic Park, The Matterhorn, Star Wars and so on.
Not only where the rides amazing, but the on street entertainment, friendly staff, fireworks and hospitality were incredible. First day we managed 9 hrs straight, 2nd- 7 hours and yesterday we broke the day into two. Stayed until 2 then home for sleep and swim, then back for evening party and fireworks. Friday is Dapper Day, so so many people were dressed up in amazing outfits from the 20's and 30's. kind of cool watching people dressed in their finery get onboard a ride!!
Food - has been really good and opposite our hotel was a fab French restaurant "Mimi's" and this morning had the most fantastic French eggs Benedict.. Kids loving the pizzas and we have been very restrained with sizes, as they can be massive. Found a fab pizza joint and not a hint of heartburn afterwards. Bubba Gump was great and had my first Gumbo which Charlotte devoured! Lots of spicy shrimps and the most amazing cocktail- " Coronita".. Small bottle of corona upside down in a margarita.. Well try that at home!
Beer- cheap, cheap and cheap!! Californian wine seems very nice, but in all honesty we have been too tired to have more than 1 beer..
Weather- hot, very hot and ridiculous!! We measured heat scale by lack of toilet stops in the day! Rehydration tablets have been great as has our D/land travel fan and water cooler!!
So I type this riding in the taxi to LAX airport as we head to San Fran.. Very excited about this next part of our adventure.
